Secondary Pathways, included with Passport Engage, allow you to create and send automated messages to your patients based on the information that they’ve entered in the Medical Passport.
You can create a secondary pathway based on certain medications that your patients are currently taking, or certain Past Medical History questions they have answered ‘yes’ to such as Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Sleep Apnea or Smoking.
- Example 1: Send an automated message to instruct patients who have diabetes to stop taking insulin at a certain time prior to surgery.
- Example 2: Send an automated message to patients taking certain blood pressure medications in order to instruct them to continue taking their medication on schedule.
Secondary Pathways are a useful tool to help your facility convey important information to patients, based on the information they provide in their Medical Passport.
