Messages Tab Overview

This functionality is only available to users with Administrative privileges.

Functionality Available:

  • View all of the messages currently saved to your facility.
  • Edit messages by clicking on the name of the message and editing the content as you wish.
  • Add new messages by clicking the “add new message” link found under the messages sub-navigation.
  • Delete any messages that you do not have any use for anymore.

Pro Tip: Name your message and put in an applicable description. In the description you can provide additional details about what that message is for. e.g. you may note in the description that the message you’re working on is for Pediatric patients only or only for patients of a specific physician.

Overview:

  • The content type of a message can either be informational, meaning that you’re simply delivering information to a patient and not asking them to reply, or it can be an appointment reminder.
  • You can ask a patient to reply directly to an appointment reminder style message in order to confirm, cancel, or reschedule their appointment.
  • You’ll be able to craft content for an email, text or both depending on your preference for how you would like that particular message to be sent.
  • There is a character limit for text messages and if you exceed the character limit you will be unable to save that message.
  • For the text message you’ll be able to see a preview of how the message will appear to the patient on the right. Email boxes are below; enter your content into the top box and preview it in the below box.
  • Insert a subject line and then save your changes.
  • Keep in mind that a message is not activated until one medical passport has turned it on. Reach out to your main point of contact when ready. Before it can be activate you will need you to decide when the message should go out and who it should go out to.
  • In terms of who received the different messages you can choose to send it to all patients or to only certain patient populations based on physician age, CPT code, or other criteria.
