Patient Check In Overview

This functionality is only available to users with Administrative access.

Log into Big Board and click on “Manage Patient Check in”.

Customization Options:

  • Add welcome text for your patients. Example: Let them know that they need to check in to receive that patient number.
  • Successful / Unsuccessful check in text. Example: If there were any errors in the information that they entered, you can prompt them to go to the front desk.
  • Set screen reset time after each patient check in.
  • Set status change following a check in. Example: Update patient status from ‘Scheduled’ to ‘Arrived’

Patient Side:

You can have patients check in on any device type by clicking “Patient Check In” at the top of the admin screen. This will take you straight to the Check In screen, where you can switch that to Full Screen mode if you prefer.

The patient would then click to “Start”, and be prompted to put in their last name and the date of birth. Once complete, they click “Check In”.

This would then let them know their patient number and instruct them to have a seat in the waiting room. This would also change the patient status from Scheduled to Arrived on your other internal views.

As an additional security measure, in order to be able to sign out, you have to enter your medical passport username and password.
