Updating a Big Board Status

Steps:

  1. If you are set up as an OMP user with administrative privileges, after first logging in, you will be directed to the Big Board Management screen. To update a patient’s status on the Big Board schedule, simply select “Go to Schedule.” If you do not have administrative privileges, you will automatically be directed to the schedule.
  2. Next, select the view that you wish to see from the drop-down menu on the top left.
  3. To update the patient’s status, simply select their “Status” and choose the status that you wish to update the patient to from the drop-down. Each status corresponds to a color and upon making a status change, you will see the color of the row update right away.

    Note: You can also make status updates by selecting the patient’s name or their scheduled time of procedure. The outcome will be the same regardless of which one you select, but do note that when you select the patient name or scheduled time of procedure, you will also have the opportunity to manually update the patient’s scheduled procedure time or room if necessary.

  4. Updates made to a patient on Big Board will immediately be visible to all users regardless of the view that they are in.
